Town of Cicero Master Plan

Master Planning | Cicero, Illinois

In 2005, zpd+a was selected to create a master plan on an existing 7.5 acre site for a new municipal complex, which included a town hall, police station, community center and parking facility. The town required open park spaces, public meeting spaces, and a water feature for children. zpd+a elicited informed feedback from the client to shape the outcome of the master plan.

An experienced team of civil, environmental and traffic engineers, as well as general contractors and construction managers assisted zpd+a to refine the master plan with regard to cost, schedule and phasing. The master plan orients the town hall and police station to the north of the site, where the brick and stone façade complements the surrounding neighborhood. The community center is located on the south side of the site, providing children from Cicero West Elementary School across the street easy access to the center. A tree-lined allée connects the surrounding streets and provides the site with the required central open space for play and gathering. Upon approval of the plan, zpd+a began the design process for the town hall, police station, community center and parking structure.
